The first Swindon Biodiversity Action Plan was published in 2005. It was then updated after a period of review, with revised drafts of the Action Plans within the BAP published early in 2010. Working groups have been set up to take forward the Action Plans, and progress is recorded at each Working Group meeting. The individual Action Plans are shown below, with details of the Working Groups involved.
After each Working Group has met, progress is recorded on the Biodiversity Action Reporting System (BARS). This allows local progress for priority habitats and species to be reported nationally. You can go to the BARS website to see find out what the latest progress is towards the actions and targets in each of the Action Plans below.

This Action Plan is progressed by a Woodland Working group, led by Swindon Borough Council. The Wetlands Action Plan incorporates swamp, fen and marsh. A Wetlands Action Plan Working Group led by the Environment Agency is currently being set up to progress both the Wetlands Action Plan and the Rivers and Streams Action Plan. This Action Plan is currently being taken forward jointly with the Wiltshire Biodiversity Action Plan through an Orchards Working Group.
